Over the past few months, the Jurewitz Law Group Injury & Accident Lawyers has been gearing up for this year’s Over the Edge for Brain Cancer charity event in San Diego. October 17, 2015 has been circled on our calendar because it’s the day we get to “Toss the Boss” and send founding attorney Ross Jurewitz rappelling over the edge of the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego (the tallest building in town!), a good 365 ft. above the sidewalk. We are thrilled to also announce that our Social Security disability attorney, Lee Jurewitz (and wife to Ross), will be joining in too!
There are about 600,000 people in the United States currently living with a brain tumor diagnosis. Researchers project another 66,000 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumor over the next 12 months. The causes for brain cancer are unknown, the survival rate is low, and only four brain cancer treatments have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This needs to change. And we can all help.
Every dollar donated to the Over the Edge for Brain Cancer event supports groundbreaking medical research needed to give anyone living with brain cancer the best prognosis they could ask for – a clean bill of health. There’s a long way to go in the fight against brain cancer, but with Over the Edge, we hope to make a difference and believe it’s a good start.
That’s why we’ve decided to up our pledge and now hope to raise $4,000 for Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, a non-profit doing amazing work in support of brain cancer research. What will meeting our $4,000 goal do? If we can reach our goal, Ross and Lee will rappel down the Manchester Grand Hyatt! You can help us meet and surpass our fundraising goal in one (or all!) of the following ways:
- Donate (Every dollar counts!)
- Write your check out to “Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure” and mail to 600 B Street, Suite 1550, San Diego, CA 92101.
- Spread the word by sharing our donation pages on Facebook and Twitter.
- E-mail or text anyone who might be interested in donating to this worthy cause.
